Our Watch Preparation Process
After sourcing a watch, we go through the following steps before offering it for sale:
-
First, the case (watch head) and band/bracelet are separated.
-
The case is opened, the battery is replaced, and the basic operation is checked.
-
The module (the internal circuit unit of the watch) is removed, and all removable parts are placed in an ultrasonic cleaner.
-
Stubborn dirt that cannot be removed by ultrasonic cleaning is brushed using alkaline cleaning water.
-
After cleaning, the parts are carefully dried, and the buttons and other functions are checked.
-
The module and case are reassembled.
-
The band is reattached and adjusted.
-
Scratches on the bracelet are improved as much as possible to enhance appearance.
-
For plastic crystals, scratches are removed by sanding and polishing with polishing compounds.
-
For mineral glass crystals, we are currently exploring the best restoration methods.
-
Finally, the watch is placed on display and monitored for several days to confirm that the display, functions, and timekeeping perform properly for daily use.
This is the process we follow to prepare each watch before listing it for sale.
While we handle pre-owned watches, we carefully service them so that when they arrive, you can enjoy looking at them and start using them right away.
It’s an enjoyable process—but it also requires working through quite a large number of watches.
