The exterior remains almost completely stock, while inside it has been modified with a built-in NFC chip. In addition, the original LCD reflective plate has been replaced with a custom luminous panel, creating a fun and unique MOD watch. ★ Built-in NFC Chip This watch contains an NFC chip inside the case. NFC is a contactless IC technology that allows communication simply by bringing a smartphone within about 5 cm (2 inches). For example, you can: Instantly open your SNS or website Share your contact information Display your profile or portfolio page Open event or shop information pages …and many other creative uses depending on how you program it. The chip can be easily customized using the smartphone app “NFC Tools.” Your watch can even function as a digital business card. ★ Luminous LCD Custom Normally, the LCD panel in the F-91W has a silver reflective plate behind the display. In this modification, that reflective plate has been removed and replaced with a custom-cut luminous tape. After being exposed to light, the material stores the energy and glows softly in the dark, illuminating the display panel like a gentle backlight. Without pressing any buttons, the display subtly floats in the dark, giving it a slightly futuristic feel. Note: Because the reflective plate has been replaced, visibility is slightly reduced compared to the original model, but the watch still functions normally as a timepiece. ★ About the Modification The F-91W module itself is simple in structure, but disassembling the module and removing the LCD carries some risk. If a display issue occurs during reassembly, it may not always return to normal.
